Arizona has a small, specialized bench of firms that perform independent HVAC testing, adjusting, and balancing (TAB) on commercial buildings. This list covers the companies most active in that market — ranked by a combination of tenure, third-party certification, and breadth of service.
How We Ranked This List
Test and balance is a credentialed trade. Two organizations issue the certifications that matter in this field: NEBB (the National Environmental Balancing Bureau) and AABC (the Associated Air Balance Council). A firm's registration number, founding date, and published scope of work are all verifiable facts — so that's what this ranking is built on, not marketing copy.
We weighted four factors: years in continuous operation, third-party certification status, breadth of services (air/water balance vs. life safety vs. specialty testing), and documented project history in Arizona.

What to Check Before You Hire
Whichever firm you're evaluating, four questions cut through the marketing:
- Are they NEBB or AABC certified — with a registration number you can ask for? Anyone can claim to do test and balance. A registration number is checkable.
- How long have they operated continuously in Arizona? TAB is a field where field experience directly affects accuracy.
- Do they warranty the work? Most Arizona TAB firms don't publish a warranty at all. CSA is the only one on this list that backs every project with a full two-year warranty.
- Is their scope broad enough for your building? A firm that only does air balance can't also certify your operating room or test your stairwell pressurization.
