"Life safety testing" isn't one service — it's a category that spans fire alarm detection and notification, smoke control and stairwell pressurization, fire and smoke damper testing, and critical-space certification. Few Arizona firms cover the whole category; most specialize in a piece of it.
What Life Safety Testing Covers
Building and fire codes require different life safety systems to be tested on different schedules — some annually, some at commissioning, some after any modification to the building. The disciplines most relevant to commercial buildings are detection and notification testing, smoke control and stairwell pressurization testing (required by code in high-rise buildings), fire and smoke damper testing, and operating room or critical care ventilation certification.

Annual vs. One-Time Testing
Some life safety tests happen once, at commissioning. Others — critical room certification and many detection/notification tests — are required annually for as long as the building operates. Before hiring, confirm which category your project falls into, and ask any firm you're considering whether they'll still be in business, and still standing behind the work, when next year's recertification comes due.
